Away

Away

So I've been away for a little while, I decided to take a vacation and relax a little bit, and boy was it great! I feel so much better, I came home ready to clean my house, do the ridiculous mountain of laundry I have to do and just get everything squared away. I am so very sorry for my absence and will be working on posting every few days.
UPDATE: Since my son was born I've been using the Tommee Tippee brand bottles. This past week my mother in law suggested Dr.Brown bottles and bought us a few so I figured I would give them a try. I love them so much, they are helping my baby feed so much easier, the nipple is a lot smaller then the Tommee Tippee nipple and he just has an all around better time. I only have 3 of the bottles right now so I'm working on going to buy a few more, and right before we got these I was about to buy the Tommee Tippee electric steam sterilizer. I am looking to buy the Dr.Brown electric steam sterilizer but they are so expensive. Once I obtain one I will be sure to write a review!
Have a great weekend everybody!

Valentines Day Keep-Sake

Valentine's Day Keep-Sake

 Ingredients

  1. 1/2 Cup of Flour
  2. 1/2 Cup Salt
  3. 1/4 Cup Water (Give or Take)

  • Preheat your oven to 200 Degrees.
  • Mix Together ingredients with your hands until it forms into a dough like consistency.
  • Wash your little ones hands or feet, or both. (Its best to do this when they are a little sleepy when infants).
  • Flatten out mold into whatever shape you wanted it to be.
  • Now press hand or foot firmly into the dough, you want to have the lines of the hand or foot in the imprint.
  • If you are going to write anything in the dough, I would do it now before it dries out, or you will have to paint it on or write in sharpie.
  • Stick in oven for 2- 2 1/2 hours.
  • If desired, Paint
  • Enjoy

A Rant And A Giggle

A Rant And A Giggle

So I have to take a second to rant... about my bottles. We own the Tommee Tippee: Closer To Nature bottles, the regular kind and the anti-colic kind. They are wonderful bottles, my son took right to them. Also the anti-colic bottles really do help with his air intake and make his gas issues a little easier to cope with. That being said, every single time I shake my five ounce anti colic bottles (I have two) to mix up the formula inside, it gets all over me! I don't know if the lids aren't going on the bottle right or if there is a crack but it is SO aggravating. I have no problem with the nine ounce bottle, it hasn't ever leaked onto me. Hopefully I can figure out how to fix or by-pass the spillage. All in all they really are good bottles and my little one didn't have any problems going from breast to bottle and back.
Now for the giggle.
This morning while feeding my little bundle, he was unusually hungry. He normally drinks about 3 ounces, well, he finished the whole 4 ounce bottle and still wanted more!! I couldn't believe it, so I decided I would burp him and then if he was still hungry make a small two ounce bottle. When I sat him upright, he did a huge burp that was accompanied by projectile spit-up/vomit. Now he does this about every other day or so, so normally I wouldn't be upset. Today was different... today he decided to lift up his tiny little head just as he burped and shoot his burp-vomit right in my face. Talk about disgusting. after I cleaned him and myself up, I couldn't help but laugh, I guess this is apart of mommy initiation.

One Month

February 6th 2014 - The One Month Mark

Today my little man is one month old. People always told me that time with my baby would fly by and I got so caught up in hating postpartum stress and side effects that I didn't really pay attention. It really has just flown by!! (it's a little bitter sweet). He is weighing 8 Pounds 11 Ounces and is 22 inches long, and my arm is killing me from holding this growing baby. This past month Baby Fisher has learned how to lift his head, hold it, and turn from side to side (he also looks like a bobble head but that's alright, its really cute). He has lost weight and gained weight, he's also been taken off of breast milk and put on formula due to low milk supply. We went to the doctor for his 2nd week appointment and he went from 7 lbs. 10 Oz. (birth weight) to 7 lbs. 1 Oz (week one) to 6 lbs. 11 Oz. (week 2). I was terrified and found out that his long bouts of screaming fits were possibly due to him being hungry. I felt so bad that I didn't know he was hungry, I really felt like a bad mother. We put him on formula and came in for a weight check two days later and he had gained 6 Oz. I was relived that he was gaining weight and he looked so much healthier. Now with him up to 8 Lbs. 11 Oz. I'm no longer worried about his weight gain (plus his cheeks wiggle when I burp him, Ha!). Fisher has also learned how to smile, although its mostly during his sleep, he has surprised me with a sweet little smile back at me a few times. I am really looking forward to this next month, its going to be so much fun to watch him discover things and learn!! Also we have been battling gas problems and possible colic. If any of you guys have any advice or have been through this before please leave me a comment!
Have a Great Day!

My First Post

Hello!!

Welcome to my very own Mommy Blog. Let me tell you a little bit about myself... My name is Victoria, and I am a first time parent, and young mother. I had my beautiful baby boy on January 8th 2014, and his name is Fisher. We live in the South with my fiancĂ© Josh and our pit-bull/black lab mix. I invite you to join me down this rabbit hole full of life.

I decided to start a blog for many reasons but the main four are:

1. To journal my experiences as a new and blossoming parent (hence the name).

2. I will also be doing product reviews as well, to my most honest opinion, good or bad.

3. I eventually hope to evolve and do some tutorials, and attempt pins from my Pinterest boards

4. And finally I hope to connect with many other mommy bloggers!!

I will be writing all about my day to day life with a new baby in the house, my rowdy dog, and my wonderful fiancé. We will be reviewing products that we already own to begin with and then hopefully some samples...( How Exciting!!).

We hope you are as enthused as we are about our blog :)
Leave us a comment, feedback, or any tips you might have!!
